INSTRUCTIONAL:

Parking Lot Safety
The parking lot will begin to see more activity with roofing and siding crews starting, so as always, please be careful when driving through the construction zones.

Driving Circulation
If you are dropping someone off at the door on Sunday or Wednesday night, please drive counter-clockwise around the church building in order to avoid two way car traffic around the church, improve safety and improve circulation.

INFORMATIONAL:

NEW ENTRANCE
The East Entry (Main Entrance) is available again for use during this Sunday's services. This entry will be closed during the work week to allow construction to continue.

EXTERIOR BRICK WORK
The exterior brick work is finishing up and will be washed soon. Stone window sills will be installed prior to cleaning.

Steeple Repair: The steeple repair and reconstruction will also begin this month.

Crown Molding: The crown molding and trim work around the building will be finished soon followed by painting.

Landscaping: Landscaping will begin the week of May 19th. Boulder placement, lawn irrigation and sod should be finished by June.

Parking Lot: The parking lot assessment will occur in early May to assess the amount of existing pavement that needs to be replaced prior to resurfacing the lot.

LOWER LEVEL
The new Lower Level rooms (new Club 56 Room, new Junior High Room and new Senior High Room) are ready for carpeting which will occur at the end of the month after the Activity Center concrete floor in poured. The existing Fellowship Hall re-carpeting will begin next week and will continue into the following week.

ACTIVITY CENTER
The Upper Level Activity Center lighting and ductwork are nearly finished. The decorative wood accent trim on the ceiling of the Activity Center is underway. It appears as though the roads restrictions are lifted and preparation will begin for the concrete floor in the Activity Center and sidewalks around the building. Duane will coordinate the timing with staff as there will be a number of concrete trucks required. This should occur around the second week of May.

SANCTUARY and NARTHEX
We are continuing to work on a schedule for the Worship Center sprinkler system as well as finding a time to work on the Narthex ceilings. The ceiling tiles will be upgraded to match the Fireside Room.

WALL REPAIR
We have repaired the wall in front of the existing elevator (administration corridor near the library) and have installed a control joint in the wall to allow the Administration Wing and CE Wing to move independently without further damage to the wall. We will repaint that portion of the hallway when the painters have the paint to match the existing walls.

ENTRANCE & EAST NARTHEX
The lobby areas (new east narthex) are ready to begin painting and the architectural columns are completed in the entry area and will continue in the lobby entry area into the Activity Center. The ceramic tile has been finished in the new restrooms and will be grouted soon.

MAIN LEVEL
The Upper Level Activity Center wood trim is complete and the acoustical spray-on sound proofing will occur next week followed by painting. Once the finishes are completed, the concrete sound floor system will begin the week of May 19th. The lobby areas are finished and are awaiting carpeting which will arrive at the end of May. The Administration Hallway re-carpeting will begin after Fellowship Hall is completed.

LANDSCAPING and CARPETING
Looking ahead into May and June the site landscaping and final layer of asphalt will be installed when weather permits and on the inside of the building carpeting will commence in the new addition as well as portions of the existing building (Narthex, Fireside Room, Administration Hallway, 2nd floor C.E. Hallway, and stairs in the C.E. Wing).

CONTINUING INSTRUCTIONAL:

ACCESS TO NORTH LOT LIMITED DURING WEEKDAYS

As a safety reminder, the construction traffic will be contained, as much as possible, to the North Lot (by the old side door to the church office) to feed materials to the work area of the new addition. Be aware of the machinery and personnel in and around this area.

Access through the North Lot and driveway (by the old side door to the church office) will be restricted to construction traffic during the weekday, but opened for church use after the construction activities cease for the day and opened on weekends.

NORTH LOT AND DRIVEWAY CLOSED WEEKDAYS

BUT OPEN WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AND SUNDAYS

DRIVING CIRCULATION ON SUNDAYS & WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Please help us ease driving problems on Sundays by all driving the same direction around the church building. If you want to drive to the West Lot (near the preschool entrance) to drop someone off, please drive counter-clockwise around the church building. This follows our old traffic pattern when we had two driveways. That means you will turn right after you enter our driveway, drive through the North Lot (by the old side door to the church office), drive South past the pillared doors to the preschool, and then drive East past the preschool playground until you come to the Main Parking Lot (East Lot). If you follow this rule on Sundays and Wednesday Nights (and Sundays and Wednesday nights Only, as the North Parking Lot and driveway will be closed during business hours during the week), we will
avoid two way traffic around the church, improve safety and improve circulation.

Of course you are free to drive directly into the Main Parking Lot (East Lot) as you enter the church driveway, park, and then walk to the doors on the south or west sides of the church.

SAFETY REMINDER

As the Activity Center Addition and Lower Level Junior High Ministry Areas continue to take shape, there is a great temptation to walk through it and see how things are progressing - be aware that it is still a construction site.
For safety reasons, please do not enter the construction area, no matter how tempting or safe you believe it to be.

ONE DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE

The "temporary entrance" we have been using to enter the church property (west or preschool side of the property) is CLOSED. All traffic must now enter and exit the one main driveway (east side) that leads to our main parking lot. This is our permanent entry and exit.

ENTRY DOORS and PARKING

The only doors that remain open are still the south doors (by the preschool playground) and the west doors (the preschool entrance between the large pillars).

We continue to request that you leave the parking spaces on the west side of the church (the preschool entrance between the large pillars) for our elderly and those with decreased mobility. This will become increasingly important with the arrival of snow. The majority of us will continue to park in the main parking lot and walk along the south side of the church (closest to Highway #7) to enter the south door.
